Yes, the tap water on Bonaire is of excellent quality and can be drunk without any concerns. It also tastes wonderfully fresh.
At Resort Bonaire, you can use 220V connections. European plugs fit perfectly. Do you need an adapter plug? You can borrow one from reception.
Healthcare is good and there is a hospital on the island. Check the regulations in your country for further vaccination requirements.
Do you take medication? Make sure you bring enough with you and ask your pharmacy for an overview of your medication and any allergies. It's handy to have this to hand. Also, protect yourself against mosquitoes with long clothing and a spray containing DEET (also available locally).
Bonaire has high standards of hygiene. You can therefore relax and enjoy yourself in cafés, restaurants, terraces, and public places.
Yes, identification is mandatory on Bonaire. You must always be able to show valid identification if requested by the authorities.
Bonaire has a tropical and very consistent climate. During the day, the average temperature is 30 °C and at night around 25 °C. The trade winds provide pleasant cooling. Rain is rare; when it does rain, it is in short, tropical showers, after which the sun quickly breaks through again. The rainy season runs from mid-November to mid-January.
We attach great importance to sustainability. Energy and water are precious commodities on Bonaire. We therefore ask you to use them consciously and responsibly during your stay.
Yes, there are several supermarkets on Kaya Industria in Kralendijk:
- Van den Tweel Supermarket (Albert Heijn): many Dutch products.
- Bondigro Supermarket: comparable to Aldi/Lidl.
- Warehouse Bonaire: an affordable supermarket with a wide range of products.
In addition, there are many shops selling a mix of local and oriental products. Because almost everything is imported, prices can be higher than in the Netherlands and products are sometimes temporarily unavailable.

Yes, we are happy to arrange your transfer. Our driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall and take you directly to the resort. The cost is $35 per person. Would you like to make use of this service? Please contact us in advance.
No vaccinations are required for Bonaire. Don't forget your personal medication and bring enough supplies with you.
On Bonaire, you pay with the US dollar ($). You can withdraw cash with your debit card and there are plenty of ATMs on the island. There is no need to bring dollars from the Netherlands; you can withdraw cash upon arrival at the airport.
Yes, there are several laundromats on the island that can take care of your laundry. Would you like to use this service? Please inquire at the reception desk for the options.
Bonaire is the place to be for water sports enthusiasts. Surfing, diving, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and snorkeling. You can do it all during your water sports vacation on tropical Bonaire! At Resort Bonaire, you can even learn to dive at our own diving school.
Resort Bonaire has its own diving school in collaboration with Dive Friends. Here you can learn to dive in the practice pool, temporarily rent your own diving equipment, and receive lessons from certified instructors!
